We are looking for a Machinist to join our dynamic team!

DROP Group provides support and resources to our design and manufacturing companies within the industrial manufacturing and marine fields. We primarily create made-to-order sprockets and marine components with industry leading turnaround times and quality.

As a Machinist, you'll be manufacturing our core product here at DROP, working with steel, and completing machining processes with a high degree of efficiency and reliability.

  • Read and interpret production orders as instructed by the Manufacturing Lead.

  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials made of steel & other metals using mills, lathes, drill presses, presses and other machine tools.

  • Complete final assembly of components to meet customer fit and finish expectations.

  • Finish deburr part(s).

  • Check final product to ensure conformance to company standards.

  • Measure and organize materials to improve workflow while mitigating errors.

  • Load and unload raw materials, transferring them to appropriate work stations.

  • Take pride in maintaining a clean work and shop area.

  • Assist with maintenance of machinery, if necessary.

  • Support shipping & receiving of parts when required.

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner following shop safety policies at all times.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requirements

  • Excellent decision-making skills and attention to detail.

  • Complete machining processes fast and repeatably, such as turning, milling, drilling, filing, boring, or cutting.

  • Mechanical/technical aptitude working with detailed production instructions.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Experience working in a production machine shop considered an asset.
