We are looking for a Mechanical Design Tech to join our dynamic team!
DROP Group provides support and resources to our design and manufacturing companies within the industrial manufacturing and marine fields. We primarily create made-to-order sprockets and marine components with industry leading turnaround times and quality.
As a Mechanical Design Technologist, you'll be producing detailed technical drawings for mechanical assemblies and components with a high degree of accuracy, problem solving, and timeliness.

Produce detailed technical drawings for mechanical assemblies and components.
Establish and maintain consistent, high quality, and accurate information required to be shown on design drawings intended for manufacture.
Ability to prioritize work based on a dynamic environment to meet deadlines.
Work closely as a team player as part of the engineering group and shop floor personnel.
Understand a wide variety of manufacturing processes and techniques.
Remain well-informed of new technologies and infuse new ideas into the department.
Present project updates to colleagues.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Complete projects and other duties as assigned by manager in a timely manner.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requirements
Fluent knowledge and experience with CAD software. i.e. SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Â
Interpret customer specifications and blueprints.Â
Possesses a mechanical design aptitude.
Experience with any of the following: ERP, CAD, CAM, CMM, ISO 9001:2008 quality standards.
Machine shop and general safety awareness.Â
Mechanical engineering and manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
